About the event
It can be hard to navigate interpersonal relationships when the foundation of it is built on subtle cues, unconscious actions/assumptions, and codependency. In order to begin to have real discussions that are rooted in transformation and change, we need to shift our thinking from codependent to interdependent. When one has experienced trauma in their life, it can be hard to open up and trust other people; but it is crucial if we are to begin working together and build something new. Here is the invitation to heal trauma, and participate in an active discussion of how to engage in meaningful, compassionate discourse without moving into shame, blame, or judgment.
In this recovery workshop, you can expect to:
- Discuss strategies for setting respectful boundaries with others within your role as a helper, advocate or activist
- Discuss strategies to establish firm individual self-boundaries as an activist, with appropriate trust, balance and interdependence.
- Discuss developing confidence in self, capacity of meeting your own needs and tolerating being alone when necessary.
