About the event
Many of us either identify as someone who was on active duty in the military or knows a family member, friend, colleague or close community member who identifies as such. It’s no secret that being an active duty military member is hard on the psyche. Family members are often not prepared when their loved one returns from service or deployment with a diagnosis of PTSD or other psychological/emotional issues. In this webinar we will cover the complexities of the healing process, as well as the survival techniques many people default to under stress. War is not something one can “get over”. An unfortunate statistic is that a high population of veterans are among the homeless because neither they nor family members know how to cope with the intensity of post-war trauma. Let’s talk together about how we can support our veterans in a compassionate way.
