Since the 2019 Year of Return Campaign, https://www.yearofreturn.com/ marking 400 years since the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Jamestown, we have answered the call to return and reconnect with the African continent and our ancestry. To touch the soil of Ghana, to press our palms against the land where ancestors once stood, to witness the reverence with which the people tend, love, and water the Earth—this is to witness devotion in its purest form. It is to feel the pulse of something ancient, something alive, something calling us home. The land sings to those who listen, and in its song, there is an invitation.

And so, we prepare. We prepare for our 2025 Racial Healing Retreat in Ghana, where healing will take root, where wisdom will be exchanged like seeds carried by the wind, where joy—unimaginable, radiant joy—will bloom beneath our feet. The journey is calling. Your seat is waiting.

On October 31-November 6, 2025, join us on a liberation and freedom journey to Ghana, Africa where we will spend seven days bearing witness to stunning African sunrises and sunsets, engaging with the people, food, folklore, dance and vibrant art and culture of Ghana and the African continent.

This 4th annual pilgrimages to Africa for the purpose of connection and reconnections, racial healing and ancestral celebrations. Racial healing is at the heart of this journey – and reconciliation, transformation and healing celebrations are our goals.

Outcomes:

  1. This journey will immerse people of African descent in restorative practices with the people, food, folklore, dance and vibrant art and culture of Africa that can begin to mend and create pathways to individual and community wholeness.

  2. The journey will bring people of African descent together to rekindle love between and among people of African descent, rekindle love and appreciation for their ancestral practices and ancestral lands, and begin to offer and share strategies to repair the damage caused by centuries of colonization, racism, struggle and triumph.

  3. This journey will facilitate deeper understanding, healing, trust and reconciliation between people of African descent and the cultural and spiritual practices that continue to sustain their survival all over the world, while building authentic relationships and bridging divides.

  4. Receive a special complimentary membership with a Black Women’s Blueprint member card that gives you VIP access to all of our retreats or events, like our annual production of Mother Tongue Monologues, and any future conferences!
