About the event

The closure of nonprofit organizations due to insufficient funding is a poignant reminder of the fragility of social missions in the face of financial challenges. These closures represent more than just the end of an institution; they mark the loss of vital services and support for communities in need. Nonprofits often operate on tight budgets, relying heavily on grants, donations, and volunteer efforts to sustain their operations.

When funding falls short or becomes unsustainable, organizations are forced to make difficult decisions, ultimately leading to closure. Beyond the immediate impact on staff and beneficiaries, the closure of a nonprofit can ripple through the community, leaving a void in services and support systems. It underscores the critical need for ongoing financial sustainability and diversified funding streams to ensure the longevity and resilience of nonprofit organizations in fulfilling their missions.

This empowering workshop is designed specifically for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) leaders driving change within social justice movements. Led by Farah Tanis, Co-Founder of BWB (Black Women's Blueprint), this transformative session delves into strategies for expanding missions and infrastructure.

Through dynamic discussions, skill-building exercises, and personalized guidance, participants will explore innovative approaches to scale their initiatives sustainably while navigating unique challenges faced by BIPOC leaders. Whether aiming to broaden opportunities to receive funding, broaden community engagement, enhance organizational capacity, or amplify advocacy efforts, this workshop equips attendees with actionable insights and tools to effectively scale their impact and ensure the survival of their organizations.
