About the event

When life is flowing well, many of us don’t necessarily engage consistently in spiritual practice. However, when catastrophe hits, that is when our emotional, mental, and spiritual constitutions are put to the test. What happens when we lose someone dear to us, or a parent loses a child before their time? There are a number of things in this world that could cripple us due to the grandiosity of the heartbreak. Global warming, ecosystem destruction, and the mass extinction events are enough to cripple anyone who gets swallowed in grief. In this webinar we will go over simple techniques that may be helpful, and engage in discussion on what works for different people when catastrophe hits.

In this recovery workshop, you can expect to:

  1. Discuss strategies for recovery after life falls apart, the importance of community, and why connection is our most powerful intervention
  2. Increase knowledge of strategies for moving through crisis after initial safety, security, and other vital and immediate needs have been met and when a family or a community is rebuilding
  3. Begin a conversation, gain skills to manage distress and cope with post-disaster stress and adversity
  4. Share basic techniques for recovery from unanticipated or longstanding crises
