About the event

The call for white people to “do the work” is a serious one. Not just because of the historical and present, pervasive and persistent, embodied and systemic impact of white supremacy on Black and Brown people, but because it threatens our democracy, our planet and our humanity as a whole. White supremacy is bad for all of us.

This training is designed for well-meaning white people who are ready to reckon with how we’re implicated in the system of white supremacy and what it's going to take to detox our body/mind and heal our humanity.

Through embodied practice, radical inquiry and courageous conversation, we will explore how we got here, where we are situated in unequal systems, how we’ve internalized dominant culture, what white supremacy is costing us and what our right role/responsibility is in getting free.

Note: While this training is led by a white bodied facilitator AND for white bodied leaders and practitioners, it is held in accountable relationship with women of color. The Reparative Payment Model is being utilized for this workshop. Also, portion (25%) of the program fee will be redirected to support scholarship funding for BIPOC.

This is a four day event:   June 19 - June 22, 2023     12:00pm EST to 2:30pm EST each day

Restore Forward offers various ways for diverse audiences to engage in programming opportunities. Our Reparative Payment Model honors the various identities present within our spaces and the privileges and oppressions experienced by those identities. Who gets access is a product of systemic oppression and structural violence and our Reparative Payment Model acknowledges generational harms and traumas experienced by Black and Indigenous peoples as well as those groups who have benefitted from direct and indirect violence and various systems of oppressions.

Restore Forward commits to modeling reparations within its systems and practices. Each payment tier reflects how monies are invested when you choose to register for a Restore Forward course.

If you have more to offer, believe in the vision of Restore Forward, and are white-bodied, white-identifying, or a representative of a predominantly white organization, you are encouraged to pay an amount most reflective of your access to economic resources.

Further, 25% of reparations monies are allocated to BIPOC scholarships for historically marginalized and economically disenfranchised participants. Thank you for taking actionable steps to minimize harm and repair relationships.
